Fourth of July in Stonington Borough

The Fourth of July is a BIG DEAL in Stonington Borough. There’s usually a fantastic parade that draws the whole community out to celebrate. It’s the sort of event that makes you really glad you live in a small town. Much to our dismay, due to COVID-19, there won’t be one this year.

As an alternative, The Stonington Historical Society is hosting a live-stream Facebook event on Saturday, July 4th from 11 am - 11:30 am. The Declaration of Independence will be read, with a rousing call for “A pox on King George!”

If you’re as disappointed as we are about the parade, we totally understand. Check out our photo gallery from last year’s parade — or photos from previous years by The Westerly Sun.
